Raleigh, NC Health Insurance
Raleigh, NC is the capital of North Carolina and the county seat of Wake County. Raleigh is the second most populous city in North Carolina. Raleigh is also known
as the City of Oaks because it has many oak trees. Raleigh, NC in 2008, was estimated by the US Census Bureau to have 392,552 inhabitants. This represents a
42% increase from the Census in 2000, making Raleigh NC the 45th largest city in the US and the 8th fastest growing city in the nation. The three main cities of the
RTP (Research Triangle metropolitan region) are Raleigh North Carolina, Durham, and Chapel Hill. The regional monicer of The Triangle originated when the
Research Triangle Park was created in 1959, oriented between the three cities Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Durham and the three prominent research universities of
UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke University, and NC State Universitiy.
The Research Triangle area includes the US Census Bureau's statistical area of Raleigh, Cary, and Durham located in the central piedmont area of North Carolina.
In 2008 the population of the Raleigh, Cary, Durham CSA was 1.6 million, and the Raleigh, Cary metropolitan statistical area was over 1 million, as the county's
most rapidly growing metropolitan area.Th e majority of Raleigh North Carolina is located inside Wake County, with a minute portion protruding into Durham
County. The towns of Garner, Cary, Apex, Wake Forest, Holly Springs, Knightdale, Fuquay-Varina, Rolesville, and Wendell are most of Raleigh North Carolina's
satellite towns and suburbs. All health insurance plans are not equivelant, and there's no general rule for choosing the best plan in Raleigh NC to fit your needs.
The best fit for one may not be the best for another person. The most beneficial health insurance plan for you is dependent on the type of healthcare you need,
how many people are in your family, among other personaly specific factors. There are a wide variety of health insurance types with a wide range of features
available in Raleigh. Depending on your specific health, the cost of health insurance can vary widely for each type of condition.
Because many people in Raleigh purchase health insurance via their employers, that adds another unknown. Some employers pay for a greater portion of your
health insurance premium than others. This makes inquiring about health insurance benefits important during job searches. You don't have to be a professional, or
spend a large amount of time to access which health insurance plan works best for you. Acertaining which type of plan has the benefits you desire should make your
choice fairly easy. Here is a summary of the primary differences between plan types offered in Raleigh NC: A Health Maintenance Organization HMO is a
membership oriented cost reduction model. A Prefered Provider Organization is similar to a HMO, but with greater freedom. You can see providers outside the
network normally for higher costs than in network providers. Point-of-Service is a hybrid of a PPO and an HMO. Traditional indemnity/major medical is the least
restrictive type of coverage in Raleigh North Carolina. With this plan there is no network, so premiums are higher, but you are able to see any provider for covered
services.
Medicare only covers a portion of your medical costs. But with
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, the state's largest
Medicare supplement insurer,6 you can stop worrying about the
costs that Medicare doesn't cover with our Blue Medicare

7 This is only a summary of benefits describing the policies' most important features. The policy is the insurance contract. You must read the
policy itself to understand all the rights and duties of both you and your insurance company. These policies may not fully cover all of your
medical costs. Neither Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina nor its agents are connected with Medicare.

9 For entry age plans the following applies: When you enroll you will lock in your entry age forever as long as you stay in the Medicare

subject to change but you alone will not be singled out for premium increases based on your health or age. Rates are subject to change June
1st of each year and are guaranteed for 12 months. Any change in your rate will be preceded by a 30-day notice.
10 Pre-existing conditions are conditions for which medical advice was given or treatment was recommended by or received from a physician
